How our terminal operations work

A terminal network from south to north

Saltimport has terminals in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, Ålesund and Vannavalen north of Tromsø, probably the world's northernmost salt terminal. The network means salt and related products always have a short way to the customer, wherever in the country the business is located.

Different terminals, different needs

Some terminals are bulk facilities open around the clock, where customers can collect goods themselves outside regular opening hours. Others are warehouses for packaged goods, suited to products delivered on pallets, in big bags or in smaller bags. Ålesund is an important hub for salt products to the fishing industry, while the other terminals serve a broad range of industries such as road maintenance, agriculture and food production.

A short way from terminal to customer makes the delivery more predictable, whatever the season.

How to order

  • Contact the sales team or create an account in the digital ordering portal
  • The logistics team finds the most suitable mode of transport, by truck and/or boat
  • Goods are delivered in bulk, on pallets, in big bags or in smaller bags as needed
